Privacy Policy for App Blocker

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 12, 2026

App Blocker (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a productivity tool designed to help users manage their screen time. This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to your privacy and details how we handle information on your device.

1. Privacy by Design (Zero Data Collection)

Our core philosophy is that your digital habits should remain private.

  • No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information (such as names, emails, or phone numbers).

  • No Usage Tracking: We do not monitor which apps you block or your browsing history.

  • Offline Operation: App Blocker is designed to work 100% offline. The app does not have permission to transmit data over the internet, ensuring your data never leaves your device.

2. Permissions and Their Use

To provide blocking functionality, the app requires specific system permissions. These are used locally and temporarily:

  • Accessibility Service: This is used strictly to detect when a blocked app is launched so that App Blocker can display a blocking screen. We do not log or record any text or interaction data.

  • Usage Access: This allows the app to track time spent in specific applications to enforce your set limits. This data is stored only in your device's volatile memory and is never exported.

  • Overlay Permission: This allows the app to display the "Block" screen over other applications.

3. Third-Party Services

App Blocker does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs (Software Development Kits), or tracking pixels (e.g., no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Facebook SDK). There is no third-party code in the app that could collect your information.

4. Data Storage and Retention

  • Local Storage: All settings, schedules, and app-blocking configurations are stored locally on your device.

  • Data Deletion: You have full control over your data. All app settings are permanently deleted if you:

    1. Clear the App Cache/Data in your device settings.

    2. Uninstall the application.

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • GDPR (EEA): Because we do not collect or process personal data on any servers, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation by default through "Privacy by Design."

  • CCPA/CPRA (California): We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by California law, as no data is ever harvested or transmitted.

  • COPPA (Children’s Privacy): Our app is safe for all ages as it does not collect any identifying information from children or adults.

6. Security

Since the app operates offline, your data is protected by your device's own security (encryption, biometrics, and passcodes). We recommend keeping your device OS updated to ensure the best local security.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect future app improvements. However, our "No-Data-Collection" stance will remain the foundation of any updates.
